Grateful Dead Live at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on 1994-02-25
- Live concert
- Grateful Dead
- DeadLists Project
Source: FOB (unknown mics) > DAT > Tascam DA-20 > Harmon Kardon stand alone burner >Tascam CDRW700 > Toast Audio Extractor (overlap) > SHN. THIS IS NOT A RE-EXTRACTION - the original SHNs had sector boundary errors on the last track of each disc, were not seekable (also minor), and the d2>d3 transition was not seamless (minor again). These issues have been resolved and the show tracked on 2 discs instead of 3 (minus the previously included "filler").

Subject: I am on an amazing journey
There is a SBD available of a recording made during sound check where Jerry bitches out the band for not telling him about the rehearsals the week before. Phil said that they tried to call him over and over again, but they couldn't reach him. Hehehehehe. Unfortunately, this show is a bit dusty as a result. Gotta love the I Fought the Law encore though.

Then second set, it starts to gel and the x factor really kicks in. There are blown lyrics all night, but the desire is there. In set 2 Garcia finds his old-self, and the magic is certainly there in many places. The post-space Garcia ballad, though with a few blown lyrics, is just off the hook with energy and beauty.
If you're into the late-dead, unpredictable Garcia roll-of-the-dice, with the sometimes interesting and exciting angle that it brings out in the band...then this one, with patience, pays off.
IMHO....my 2 cents......
